Coach Jill Feldman began fencing under the tutelage of Fencing Master Raymond Finkleman.
Coach Jill Feldman comes from a strong competitive background, having won 1st place in the Mid-Atlantic Sectional Qualifying tournaments (sabre) for five straight years (1996-2000). In 1997 she won the Division III Summer National Championships and in 1999 finished 3rd in the Division IA Summer Nationals. From 1998-1999 she was listed in the United States Fencing Associations media Fact Book in the “Fencers to Watch” section.
Jill began coaching adult and children’s classes at the Fairfax Park and Recreation Department in 1996. In 1999 she became a founding member of the International School of Fencing in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia, and served as an assistant coach for ISF until its closure in 2003. In 2004, Jill helped found Dominion Fencing where she taught all three weapons for ten years before that club’s closure in 2013.
In addition to coaching and competing, Jill Feldman has held offices in the Capitol Division and the Mid-Atlantic Section of the US Fencing Association. She often serves as a member of the National Tournament Staff and has chaired many North American Cups and US National Championships. As if this wasn’t enough to keep her busy, Jill also referees at the local, sectional, and national level in all three weapons.
Jill Feldman holds a Moniteur diploma from the United States Fencing Coaches Association in all three weapons. In addition to her diploma from the USFCA, she has attended numerous camps and clinics, including the United States Fencing Association’s Coaches College Program in Colorado Springs, Colorado where she obtained diplomas in all three weapons.
